Growing up in the foothills of NC in Yadkin County, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I attended Western Carolina University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I began my career teaching 2nd grade with the Iredell-Statesville School System. Two years later I married and moved to Anson County. I worked in the classroom at Lilesville Elementary for seven years, with six of those years teaching 3rd grade. During this time I earned a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from UNC-Pembroke. I then transferred to Wadesboro Primary School and began my career as a media specialist. While working I earned a Master of Science in Media from East Carolina University. This is my first year in Union County and at Rock Rest!
I currently live in Lilesville with my husband, Ryan, and daughter Maggie. We are wide open during football season traveling to cheer on our Catamounts and watching our beloved Georgia Bulldogs.
